Former Pakistan captain and commentator Ramiz Raja has urged Pakistan to prove their critics wrong by putting up a strong display during the England tour.

A day earlier, ex-England skipper Michael Vaughan termed Pakistan the weakest side to tour England in history. He questioned the visitors’ ability to challenge England and predicted that Three Lions would comprehensively beat Pakistan.

“This is the weakest team to have ever toured England. I don’t see how they can challenge this England side in these conditions. From what we’ve seen, England should be winning this series 3-0 without breaking much of a sweat,” Michael Vaughan said on the BBC.

A few days ago, Stuart Broad made a similar statement, describing Pakistan as a ‘poor’ side.

“Pakistan are a weaker side. There is no doubting that. They are a very poor side. If England don’t come away with a Test series win, it really is a huge failure for them,” Broad said.

“You would imagine, and you would think that England should win 3-0 and pretty comfortably,” Broad opined.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Ramiz Raja said it remained to be seen whether Pakistan could make a comeback in the first Test match.

He said Pakistan needed to prove their critics wrong by pushing England harder.

“Now we just have to see whether Pakistan is really that exhausted, that drained out, that fallen so low, or will we see a fightback with the bat? The thing is, you have to fight, because you need to show the people, the fans, and the English commentators,” Raja said.

Pakistan were bowled out for a mere 171 in the first innings, largely due to Ollie Robinson and Josh Tongue’s five-wicket hauls.

In reply, England piled up a 238-run lead after being bowled for 409.
