England fast bowler Brydon Carse is under investigation following an incident at a nightclub in Derby on Sunday.
Videos circulating on social media appeared to show Carse being handcuffed and escorted by four police officers.
The England Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed that it was investigating the incident.
“We are aware of an incident which is reported to have taken place in Derby last night, and are currently investigating,” the statement read.
“We will provide a further update when possible.”
Carse, who is in England’s squad for the second Test against Pakistan, was seen with teammate Matthew Potts.
According to reports, the 31-year-old was briefly detained by police at the scene before being released. It remains unclear why he was handcuffed.

Carse was not involved in England’s first Test win over Pakistan in Headingley, where the hosts won by an innings and 103 runs inside three days.
Instead, he played for Durham in their County Championship match against Derbyshire in Derby, with the Division Two leaders securing a dramatic late victory.
Former England captain Ben Stokes starred with the ball, taking 5-17 as Derbyshire were bowled out for 84, while Carse took two wickets in the match.
After the match, some members of the Durham squad went out in Derby, with the evening ending on a sour note with this reported incident.
Carse returned to the team hotel without being charged.
England wrapped up the first Test on Friday with a commanding innings victory after Pakistan were bowled out for 118 in their second innings.
Stand-in captain Salman Ali Agha later acknowledged that England had outplayed his side and pointed to mistakes and Pakistan’s inability to adapt to the conditions as key factors behind the defeat.
Pakistan trail 1-0 in the three-match series and need a win at Lord’s to keep the series alive.
