ANTIGUA: Shadab Khan earned back-to-back Player of the Match awards after sealing a five-wicket win for Antigua and Barbuda Falcons over Trinbago Knight Riders in the 14th match of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2026.
Chasing 166, Shadab Khan scored an unbeaten half-century to help his side ace the chase in 18.3 overs.
Coming in to bat at seven, Shadab forged a 76-run partnership with Kusal Perera. He rescued his team from a precarious position of 92-5 in 13.1 overs, smashing a whirlwind 52 off just 20 balls, with the help of five sixes and two fours.
Meanwhile, Kusal Perera struck three fours and a six in his 34 off 24 balls.
Earlier, Shadab also played a vital role with the ball to restrict strong Trinbago Knight Riders to a below-par total. The leg-spinner bowled an economical spell, picking up one wicket while giving away just eight runs in his four overs.

Colin Munro and skipper Nicholas Pooran scored 46 and 43, respectively.
This was Shadab’s consecutive Player of the Match award. In his previous match against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, he scored a vital 30 off 12 during an 188-run chase.
The all-rounder was instrumental in his side’s victory as he came in when Antigua and Barbuda Falcons needed 74 from the last six overs.
Besides his batting, Shadab also delivered with the ball. The 27-year-old picked up a wicket in his quota of four overs and gave 22 runs.
Following the 22 August fixture, Antigua and Barbuda Falcons have now moved to the top of the CPL 2026 points table, having won three out of five games.
