LONDON: Rain could play spoilsport on the opening day of the second Test between England and Pakistan at Lord’s on Thursday.
England head into the contest with a 1-0 lead after securing a commanding innings-and-103-run victory at Headingley. Pakistan, meanwhile, will be determined to produce an improved performance and level the series.
Rain could play a role during the opening session of the first day, with an 85% chance of precipitation forecast for the morning. Showers are expected early in the day, followed by cloudy conditions and occasional sunshine.
The threat of rain is expected to remain throughout the day, with a 93% chance of precipitation forecast. There is also a 27% chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon.

Temperatures are expected to reach around 22°C, while cloudy conditions could persist for much of the day despite the possibility of sunny intervals.
The unsettled weather could make conditions challenging for the batters while encouraging the seam bowlers.
Pakistan will draw confidence from their recent Test record in London, having won their last three Tests against England in the capital.
They defeated England at Lord’s in 2016 and 2018 before securing another victory at The Oval in 2016.
