Former England pacer Stuart Broad has labeled Pakistan a poor side and backed Three Lions to beat Pakistan 3-0 in the Test series.

Speaking on the Love for Cricket podcast, Broad described Pakistan as a weaker side and said the hosts would face a huge failure if they did not win the series.

“Pakistan are a weaker side. There is no doubting that. They are a very poor side. If England don’t come away with a Test series win, it really is a huge failure for them,” Broad said.

He also predicted England would beat Pakistan comprehensively in the Test series.

“You would imagine, and you would think that England should win 3-0 and pretty comfortably,” Broad opined.

The series opener at Headingley marks Pakistan’s return to England for a Test series for the first time since 2020. The two sides last contested a three-match series in England five years ago, with the hosts winning 1-0 and the other two Tests ending in draws.

Pakistan have also endured a long wait for a Test series victory in England, having last achieved the feat in 1996.

Wasim Akram’s side won that series 2-1, completing Pakistan’s third successive Test series triumph over them after victories under Imran Khan in 1987 and Javed Miandad in 1992.

The two teams have faced each other 92 times in Test cricket, with England winning 30 matches, Pakistan 23, and 39 ending in draws.
