“The ACB hereby confirms that the India tour of Afghanistan 2026 (Event) is scheduled to take place from September 13 to September 17,” the report quoted ACB’s CEO letter.
“The ACB further confirms that the dates of the Event have been confirmed and agreed with the BCCI and the venues of the scheduled matches have also been finalised,” it added.
The letter further said that the final confirmation of the series would be made by the relevant authorities.
“While an official public announcement regarding the event is yet to be made by the concerned authorities, the ACB is issuing this letter as an official confirmation of the scheduled dates and venues of the India tour of Afghanistan 2026.”

The dates put Bangladesh’s white-ball tour of India in doubt. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had initially set aside early September for India’s white-ball tour, with the three ODIs scheduled for 1, 3, and 6 September.
The three T20Is were due to follow on 9, 12, and 13 September.
However, the schedule creates a tight travel and recovery window for India, with one of the matches overlapping with another Afghanistan series.
As a result, India’s tour of Bangladesh is now in doubt unless the BCB significantly changes, shortens or postpones the series.
A last-minute intervention by the two governments remains possible and could still lead to a change in the schedule.
