JOHANNESBURG: Fast bowler Duan Jansen has been added to South Africa’s revamped squad for the upcoming white-ball tour of Namibia.
Duan, 26, is the twin brother of all-rounder Marco Jansen.
The Proteas’ new-look squad will be captained by left-arm spinner Bjorn Fortuin for the T20I tri-series, involving Zimbabwe and three ODIs.
The series will mark South Africa’s first T20I assignment since the T20 World Cup final earlier this year. Besides Duan, the other uncapped player yet to play T20Is is Eathan Bosch, the brother of Corbin Bosch.
Meanwhile, Connor Esterhuizen, Jordan Hermann, and Nqobani Mokoena have also been included in the ODI side for the first time.

Jordan made his T20I debut in the New Zealand T20Is in March. His brother, wicketkeeper-batter Rubin Hermann, has also been included in the squad.
Following the announcement, South Africa’s Shukri Conrad described the forthcoming tour as a ‘great’ learning opportunity.
“This tour has also opened the door for players who have performed domestically. Duan is one of those players. He is a quality all-rounder who has also shown great character for the Titans,” he said.
“Bjorn is an experienced player and proven leader who has successfully captained the Lions, and we have every confidence in his ability to lead this group,” he added.
The centrally-contracted players in the squad are Dewald Brevis, Tony de Zorzi, and Kwena Maphaka.
The T20I tri-series will begin from 28 August to 6 September, followed by the ODIs against Namibia from 9 to 13 September.
