Ailing Zulqarnain Haider receives financial aid from PCB

LAHORE: Former Pakistan wicket-keeper batter Zulqarnain Haider, who is suffering from an abdominal infection and underwent surgery, received financial assistance from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Nadeem Khan, director of the PCB’s National High-Performance Centre (NHPC), and Junaid Zia, general manager of domestic cricket, visited the ailing cricketer at his residence and presented him with a cheque to cover his hospital bills.

The two PCB officials further extended their good wishes to the cricketer and promised to support the latter in future.

Following this initiative, the former wicketkeeper expressed gratitude to the cricket board as well as Nadeem and Junaid for paying him a visit.

It is pertinent to mention here that Zulqarnain represented Pakistan in eight international matches from 2007 to 2010 before putting a controversial end to his brief career as he left the national team overnight during the Dubai tour.
