ABU DHABI: Karachi Kings’ president Wasim Akram shared some tips with young all-rounder Qasim Akram to become a successful captain in the future.
Wasim was impressed by Qasim’s question which was asked by him in Kings’ newly introduced ‘Coachable Moments’.
“Qasim, you are a wonderful cricketer and I know you were named the captain of the U19 team, unfortunately, that tour couldn’t take place,” he started.
“See, being a captain, your body language must be positive. Rest depends on the situation, pitch, and which bowlers do you have. But, as a captain, I always learnt how to be positive on the field and that really worked for me,” he shared.
Wasim believes partnerships are a part of cricket, and those are breakable only with positive midset. “Longer partnerships are part of the game. Sometimes, it is tough to break them. But, a positive body language can help you in it,” he said.
