‘The turning point of the match was Sajid Khan’s spell’, Babar Azam

DHAKA: Babar Azam, captain of Pakistan Cricket Team, reviewed his team’s performance on Bangladesh tour, here on Wednesday.

Babar, in an interview, said that he tries to give confidence to his players by clarifying their role. Players took responsibility in both T20Is and Test series against Bangladesh after T20 World Cup.

“When everyone shows responsibility, the team moves forward.”, Babar said.

Babar also shared that he feels proud to lead such an outstanding team; he also said that the victory in the second Test was something remarkable.

“I am proud to have such a good team, winning the second Test match was an extraordinary feat.”, he added.

Babar also lauded the second Test hero, Sajid Khan for his brilliant bowling, while also gave credit to fast bowlers Hassan Ali and Shaheen Shah Afridi for proving early breakthrough in the second innings.

“Sajid Khan’s eight wickets gave us momentum, while Shaheen Shah Afridi and Hassan Ali took early wickets in the morning. Both fast bowlers deserve to be praised.”, Babar added.

Talking about his bowling against Bangladesh, Babar shared that he used to bowl in Under-19 and in First Class Cricket.

“I have been bowling in under-19 and first class, but, bowled for the first time in international cricket. I enjoyed getting a wicket on my bowling.”, he concluded.

It must be noted here that Pakistan, under Babar’s leadership had a successful tour of Bangladesh, whitewashed the hosts in both T20I and Test series.
