Pakistan’s first female MMA fighter Anita finds sponsors for knee surgery

KARACHI: Pakistan’s first female Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter Anita Karim has found sponsors for her knee surgery after putting out a call for support.

The Hunza-hailed MMA star had recently impressed everyone as she defeated the Australian opponent Uyen Ha in the Fairtex Fight Promotion held in Bangkok.

The 25-year-old Anita took to Twitter to offer gratitude for the overwhelming response to her call for sponsorship while announcing that she would also share the details of her treatment and expenses soon.

“Thank you all for your warm wishes, prayers, and messages. We will find out about the details of the treatment and the cost this coming weekend. Once we have the details we will share it with everyone who reached out to us! Thank you all,” she wrote from her official Twitter account.

Earlier, Anita posted a tweet asking for sponsors who could help her with the knee surgery.

“Call for sponsors to help towards my knee surgery!” she tweeted.

Anita’s fame rose high following her victory over Indonesia’s Gita Suharsono in One Warrior Series (OWS) in 2019. The 25-years-old MMA fighter is also known as ‘Arm Collector’.
