MUSCAT: Pakistan capped off an impressive campaign at the Men’s Asian Hockey5s Championship 2026 by securing the silver medal and qualifying for the FIH Hockey5s World Cup, despite suffering a defeat to arch-rivals India in the final.
India emerged as champions after registering a 3-1 victory in the title clash, while Pakistan settled for second place following a strong run throughout the tournament in Muscat.
Although the final result went in India’s favour, Pakistan had plenty to celebrate as forward Adeel was named the Muscat Steel Player of the Tournament for his outstanding performances across the competition.
The national team’s No.11 played a pivotal role in Pakistan’s journey to the final, producing a series of influential displays that earned him the tournament’s highest individual honour.

Pakistan’s runner-up finish also secured qualification for the FIH Hockey5s World Cup 2026, marking a significant achievement for the national side as it continues its efforts to re-establish itself among the leading teams in international hockey.
The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) hailed the team’s performance and praised the players, coaching staff, management and support personnel for their commitment throughout the championship.
PHF President Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani congratulated the squad on winning the silver medal, booking a place at the upcoming Hockey5s World Cup and producing one of the standout performers of the tournament in Adeel.
