TRINIDAD: West Indies reached 49-1 at lunch on day one of the second Test against Pakistan after rain-curtailed the opening session at the Queen’s Park Oval on Sunday.
Opting to bat first, the hosts reached 49-1 in 9.5 overs before rain brought an early end to the session.
Brandon King was unbeaten on 33 from 27, striking four boundaries, while Mohammad Ali bounced out Tagenarine Chanderpaul for 15. The left-hander was caught by Sajid Khan at deep fine leg after facing 32 deliveries.
The pair bowled disciplined spells and created several opportunities with the new ball, although Pakistan’s defensive strategy limited their chances of adding to the wicket tally.
