Pakistan to tour Netherlands to play ODI series in August

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled the schedule of the Pakistan Cricket Team’s schedule of the three-match away ODI series against the Netherlands, here on Wednesday.

Pakistan will tour the Netherlands to play three-match ODI series, which will be the first-ever bilateral series between the two teams in the 50-overs format.

As per the schedule released by the PCB, the two sides will contest in three ODIs on August 16, 18 and 21 in Rotterdam.

The three Super League ODIs were originally planned to be played in July 2020 but the COVID-19 pandemic forced the series to be postponed.

On this occasion, the PCB Director – International Zakir Khan, in a PCB released statement, thanked the Koninklijke Nederlandse Cricket Bond (KNCB) for their support in rescheduling the series.

“We are pleased that with the support of the Koninklijke Nederlandse Cricket Bond (KNCB), we have been able to reschedule the series, which is important to the growth and development of cricket in the Netherlands as well as to the two teams’ chances of progressing directly to the 2023 World Cup,” he said.

“Our men’s national cricket team had an excellent 2021-22 season and I am confident they will build on the momentum to entertain expat Pakistanis and the Dutch spectators with good cricket. This series will also help KNCB attract new and young audiences towards the game,” he added.
