Pakistan to participate in women’s intl tent pegging c’ship for first time

LAHORE: For the first time in the country’s history, a three-member national women’s team has left for Jordan to compete in the International Tent Pegging Championship.

The Championship will be held in Jordan’s historic and archaeological city of Petra from September 22 to 24. The event will mark Pakistan’s first participation in a major women’s tent pegging event.

“Pakistan Women’s team is participating in a major international event for the first time,” said President Equestrian Federation of Pakistan (EFP), Sahibzada Sultan.

“The preparation of the team is good and hopefully we will perform well,” he added.

Earlier an open trial was held by the EFP to select the national women’s team for the event.

“For the first time in the history of Pakistan, the women’s national team was selected through an open trial,” said team coach Haroon Bandial.
