COLOMBO: A support staff member of the Pakistan cricket team has tested positive for Covid-19 and went into isolation after the team’s landing in Colombo for the forthcoming Test series against Sri Lanka.
According to sources, national team’s masseur Malang Ali tested positive after the Pakistani contingent underwent Covid testing upon their arrival in Colombo, reported ARY News.
The support staff member has been quarantined meanwhile the Test squad will be resting today before starting the training sessions tomorrow.
The squad will be engaged in practice drills before a three-day warm-up game scheduled from July 11 to 13.
Pakistan are set to lock horns against the Islanders in a two-match Test series with the first match scheduled from July 16 to 20 at Galle, meanwhile, the second Test will be staged in Colombo from July 24 to 28.
