LAHORE: The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has made an amendment in its constitution on special directives from Prime Minister Imran Khan.
According to the amendment, all national hockey tournaments will now be based on just regions. After cricket, hockey will also be played by just regions in national tournaments.
“Following the directives from PM Khan, we have made an amendment in PHF’s constitution in today’s meeting of executive board and congress. Now, only regions will take part in national tournaments,” PHF’s president Khalid Sajjad Khokhar.
On the other hand, Khokhar assured that the junior team is ready for the upcoming Junior Hockey World Cup. He also ensured that government will help them in getting Indian visas for the mega event.
“We are in contact with the government and I am sure there will not be any hindrance in getting visas for the event,” he said.
