LONDON: Pakistan’s men’s cricket team met King Charles at Clarence House on Wednesday, with the monarch encouraging the players as they prepare for the final Test of their ongoing series against England.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, members of the national squad and support staff attended the meeting at the historic royal residence in London.

Among the players present were Test captain Babar Azam, Shan Masood, Mohammad Abbas, Abdullah Shafique, Azan Awais, Sajid Khan and Mohammad Ali. White-ball head coach Mike Hesson and Director High-Performance Centre Aqib Javed were also part of the delegation.

King Charles spoke with members of the Pakistan squad and offered words of encouragement as the visitors look to bounce back in the final match of the three-match series.

England have already secured an unassailable 2-0 lead after winning the first two Tests, leaving Pakistan with only pride to play for in the final match. The third Test is scheduled to be played at Edgbaston in Birmingham from September 9 to 13.

During the meeting, Babar presented King Charles with a signed cricket bat on behalf of the Pakistan team.

The British High Commissioner also attended, and the official Royal Family account on X, formerly Twitter, shared glimpses of the occasion.

“This afternoon, The King welcomed the Pakistan National Cricket Team to Clarence House,” the Royal Family posted.
