Pakistan beat USA by 18-2 in Junior Hockey World Cup’s ranking match

BHUBANESWAR: Pakistan defeated the United States by a score of 18-2 in a ranking match of the Junior Hockey World Cup here on Tuesday. 

Pakistan competed for the 9th to 16th position match against the USA in order to improve their event’s ranking.

Pakistan launched an attack on the USA from the start with Abu Zar scoring the game’s first goal in the 14th minute. Soon after, Rizwan scored his first goal of the game in the 20th minute and the Green shirts kept the momentum going, pushing the opposition back and scoring 18 goals.

Waheed, the captain, was the team’s standout performer, scoring four goals, including a hat-trick. Abu Zar also scored hat-trick. Rizwan, on the other hand, scored two goals for Pakistan. Umair Sattar, Roman Khan, Hammad Anjum, Mohibullah, Mohsin Hassan, Abdul Manan, Moin Shakeel, and Abdul Rehman scored a goal each.

The USA players, on the other hand, appeared helpless as they only managed to score two goals Quaile Finlay was the only goal scorer for the team with two goals.

Pakistan has two matches left to improve their rankings. Green Shirts will play the next match on December 2 for the 9th to 12th position rankings against South Africa.

It should be noted that Pakistan were eliminated from the title race following their defeat to Argentina in third group match.
