Pakistan bag two Silvers in Mas-Wrestling World Championship

YAKUT: Pakistani wrestlers Waqas Afzal Bhatti and Saad Mohammad displayed brilliance as they bagged a silver medal each in their respective categories to take the country’s tally to two in the ongoing fourth Mas-Wrestling World Championship here.

According to the details, the Pakistani wrestler Waqas defeated his Indian counterpart Sheikh Abdul Ahad Yunus in the qualifying round before outclassing the Congo wrestler to make his way into the final. His incredible run in the 125-kg category earned him the silver medal.

Saad, on the other hand, who won the silver in the 60-kg category defeated opponents from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan in the early stages before thrashing the Serbian wrestler in the semi-finals.

The global event features athletes from 45 countries, while Pakistan sent 11 wrestlers including one female.
