Nepal men’s cricket team on Sunday became the first side to score 300 twice in T20I cricket as multiple records shattered during their dominant win over China at the Asian Games Qualifier at the Singapore National Cricket Ground.
Asked to bat first, Nepal piled up 313-2 in 20 overs, largely due to Kushal Bhurtel’s powerpacked 129 off 43 balls.
After losing Aasif Sheikh in the fourth over, Kushal Bhurtel and Kushal Malla put on a 177 run partnership, laying a foundation for a big total.
Bhurtel’s knock also featured six consecutive sixes in the ninth over as he took China bowler Chen Zhuo apart to collect 37 runs in a single over.
Eventually, Nepal finished just one short of their highest T20I tota of 313, which they had recorded against Mongolia in 2023.
Zimbabwe – 344/4 vs Gambia – 23 Oct 2024
Nepal – 314/3 vs Mongolia – 27 Sep 2023
Nepal – 313/2 vs China – 31 May 2026
Germany – 308/1 vs Austria – 1 May 2026
Overall, there were 29 sixes in Nepal’s innings, equalling the Spain’s record for most sixes in an innings.
Spain – 29 sixes vs Croatia in 2025
Nepal – 29 sixes vs China in 2026
Zimbabwe – 27 sixes vs Gambia in 2024

In reply, China were bowled out for just 92 in 19.2 overs with Kushal Malla picking up a three wicket haul. The 221 run victory margin was also Nepal’s second highest behind their 273 runs win against Mongolia.
