MULTAN: Pakistan white-ball head coach Mike Hesson has met the coaching staff of the four teams taking part in the National Champions Cup as preparations begin for next year’s ICC World Cup.
Hesson arrived in Multan on Sunday to oversee the National Champions Cup, which will run from 11 August to 18 August, with all seven matches scheduled as day-night fixtures at the Multan Cricket Stadium.
The tournament will mark an early start to Pakistan’s domestic season 2026-27.
The meeting was attended by the head coaches of Pakistan Greens, Pakistan Gold, Pakistan Whites, and Pakistan Blues — Misbah-ul-Haq, Ijaz Junior, Iqbal Imam, and Aizaz Cheema.

Pakistan white-ball team’s bowling coach Ashley Noffke and National Cricket Academy (NCA) coach Shahid Aslam also attended the meeting.
The meeting focused on improving the players’ one-day skills and other aspects of their game.
The National Champions Cup will serve as an early step in Pakistan’s preparations for the ICC World Cup 2027, co-hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.
The tournament will be played on a single-league round-robin basis, with the top two teams advancing to the final.
