BARCELONA: Robert Lewandowski starred with his second brace of the season to crush the newly-promoted Real Valladolid 4-0 as Barcelona secured the second straight win in La Liga, here at Camp Nou on Sunday.
Barcelona dominated the first half of play while the away side struggled to get into the match. The Spanish giants made an immediate impression when Lewandowski pounced at the back post on a superb cross from Raphinha.
Pedri then doubled the lead for Barca two minutes before the halftime following a skilful team effort.
Barca continued with their domination into the second half as the Polish striker scored his second with a spectacular back heel. While substitute Sergi Roberto netted the ball in the extra time to make it 4-0 for the home side.
The win elevates Barca to the third position in the table after two wins and a draw with Real Madrid claiming the top spot following their third consecutive win of the season as they outpowered Espanyol 3-1 last night.
