ISLAMABAD: Lahore’s captain Mati Ullah (B2) shone with an astounding century in the run chase to help his team overcome Azad Jammu & Kashmir and win the Pakistan T20 Blind Cricket Trophy 2022.

In the final of the championship, Lahore sealed an outstanding victory by nine wickets in a high-scoring thriller.

Lahore’s captain and the star of the final Mati Ullah won the toss and put AJK into bat first. The decision, however, seemed to have not gone in the side’s favour as AJK posted a mammoth 262/1 in the allotted 20 overs.

The captain of the AJK Nisar Ali (B2) led the way for his side with a brilliant century and played an unbeaten 126-runs knock of a mere 59 balls including 21 boundaries and a six. His opening partner Faisal Mehmood (B3) also contributed significantly as he scored an important 81 runs off 41 deliveries, laced with 13 boundaries.

A late cameo from Mohammed Tehsin (B1); scoring 32 off 20 balls, propelled the side to a commendable 262/1 in 20 overs.

Imran Mughal remained the only bowler to pick a wicket for Lahore.

Set to chase a mammoth 262, Lahore’s captain Mati Ullah stole the show with his blistering knock of 111 off just 50 deliveries featuring 19 boundaries and a six. The right-handed batter remained unbeaten and guided his side to the glory.

Lahore’s opener Kamran Akhter (B3) and the top-order batter Mohammad Salman (B1) also starred with tremendous half-centuries; scoring 78 and 50 respectively.

Habib Taj could only pick a wicket for AJK.
