Joburg Super Kings sign Matthew Wade for SA20 remainder

JOHANNESBURG: The SA20 franchise Joburg Super Kings have signed Australia’s wicketkeeper batter for the remainder of the league.

According to the details, Wade, who represented Australia in 36 Tests, 97 ODIs and 75 T20s will represent the Super Kings in the SA20 remainder, which resumes on Thursday (February 2nd).

The wicketkeeper batter was an integral part of Australia’s world cup winning team in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, including his astounding knock against Pakistan in the semi-final.

Earlier, Wade represented Hobart Hurricanes in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) and is the 17th-highest run-getter of the ongoing edition, accumulating 307 runs at an average of 25.28 and a strike rate of 131.19.

It is pertinent to mention that Wade is the latest in the batch of overseas players to join SA20 as replacements for other cricketers, who departed for their respective international duties.

After his stint in the South African league, Wade will represent Karachi Kings in the upcoming eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), scheduled to commence on February 13.
