ISLAMABAD: Home side Islamabad defeated Peshawar by 73 runs to qualify for Shahid Afridi Foundation (SAF) 7th National Disabled T20 Cricket Championship here on Thursday.
In the first semi-final of the ongoing Championship, Islamabad won against Peshawar one-sidedly.
While batting first, Islamabad scored 194-2. Adil Abbasi scored 89 off 63 balls with the help of eight fours and two sixes while Mohammad Noman Scored 65 off 48 balls laced with eight fours. They both scored 168 runs together to set solid tone for their team.
For Peshawar, Nahar Alam and Osama took a wicket each.
In reply, Peshawar got out for 121. Adeel Khan scored 30 off 17 balls with the help of six fours and Wajid Alam scored 21 runs.
Waqif Shah of Islamabad bowled brilliantly and took five wickets for 13 runs. He also registered his maiden hat trick. Zubair Khan took two wickets for 17 runs.
The second semi-final of the championship will be played in Karachi between Bahawalpur and Karachi.
