DUBAI: India sealed a comprehensive 137-run victory over Hong Kong in the ACC Women’s Asia Cup 2026 Group A fixture on Thursday at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Asked to bat first, India showcased a dominant display with the bat, piling up 193-5 in 20 overs, courtesy of Smriti Mandhana’s record century.
Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana provided a rollicking start, adding 74 in eight overs. Verma struck three sixes and two fours in her 28 off 17 before being run out.
After her dismissal, Pratika Rawal and Mandhana stitched a 37-run partnership and powered the score past 100-run mark. Rawal was caught after managing 10 from 12. Meanwhile, Mandhana continued to hold one end, forging couple of partnerships in the middle-order.
Her knock helped India in reaching a strong total. She was eventually run out in the final over after hitting 124 off 64 balls, smashing seven sixes and 14 fours.

For Hong Kong, Marina Lamplough picked up two wickets.
In reply, India bowled out Hong Kong for 56 inside 16.2 overs. Skipper Natasha Miles top-scored with 15 off 27 with the aid of a single boundary.
India bowlers never allowed Hong Kong batters to settle, picking up wickets at regular intervals. Deepti Sharma starred with the ball and picked up three wickets. Prema Rawat, Shree Charani and Nandani Sharma shared six wickets between them.
With this win, India became the first team from the Group to book a place in the semi-final. They will now play Pakistan on 5 September at the same venue.
