Franchises announce retention for Kashmir Premier League 2

ISLAMABAD: All seven franchises of the Kashmir Premier League (KPL) have announced their retentions for the forthcoming second season of the glittering T20 League, scheduled to commence on August 1.

According to the details shared by the KPL, all the KPL franchises have retained full allocations of five players, except, Mirpur Royals, Bagh Stallions, and Overseas Warriors as the three teams retained four players each.

Jammu Janbaz: Shahid Afridi (Platinum), Sharjeel Khan (Icon), Sahibzada Farhan (Diamond), Umar Akmal (Diamond), and Mehran Mumtaz (Kashmiri).

Rawalakot Hawks: Mohammad Amir (Icon), Ahmed Shehzad (Platinum), Hussain Talat (Platinum), Asif Afridi (Diamond), and Zaman Khan (Diamond).

Muzaffarabad Tigers: Mohammad Hafeez (Icon), Iftikhar Ahmed (Platinum), Anwar Ali (Diamond), Zeeshan Ashraf (Gold), Arshad Iqbal (Gold).

Overseas Warriors: Asad Shafiq (Icon), Azam Khan (Platinum), Kamran Ghulam (Platinum), and Sohail Khan (Gold).

Kotli Lions: Khurram Manzoor (Icon), Ahsan Ali (Diamond), Khurram Shahzad (Diamond), Irfanullah Shah (Gold), and Khalid Usman (Gold).

Mirpur Royals: Shoaib Malik (Icon Player), Salman Irshad (Diamond), M.Akhlaq (Diamond), and Abrar Ahmed (Diamond).

Bagh Stallions: Kamran Akmal (Icon Player), Sohaib Maqsood (Platinum), Amir Yamin (Diamond), and M. Imran Jr (Gold).

It is pertinent to mention here that the players’ draft for the second edition of KPL will be held on July 21.

Furthermore, unlike its inaugural edition, KPL 2 will not feature foreign players. However, KPL president Arif Malik claimed that the PCB permitted them to draft only those foreign players, who retired from international cricket five years ago.
