‘Excited to face West Indies at NSK’ Aliya Riaz

KARACHI: Pakistan women’s team all-rounder Aliya Riaz said she is excited to play against West Indies for the first time here at National Stadium.

While talking about the upcoming ODI series against West Indies, Aliya said preparations of the team are going well and she is excited to play international cricket at National Stadium.

“It will be a whole different situation to play an international match at the national stadium. We have played a lot of domestic cricket here but international cricket brings more excitement,” she said.

Aliya said the team is preparing strongly for the ODI series which will be followed by ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifiers.

“We are having good practice sessions here. Players are taking one-on-one sessions with coaches and trying to overcome their weaknesses. We are really looking forward to giving tough time to them [West Indies] in front of the home crowd,” she concluded.

It must be noted here that Pakistan and West Indies practiced at National Stadium and Hanif Mohammad High Performance Centre on Thursday. Teams took part in batting, bowling, and fielding sessions.
