KARACHI: Pakistan National Women’s Cricket Team’s captain Bismah Maroof has turned down the claims of her rifts with Javeria Khan.
Bismah interacted with the media in the scheduled press conference ahead of the T20I series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka and clarified that she does not hold any grudge against the right-handed batter Javeria.
“I do not have any rift with Javeria. It totally depends on the selectors, to whom they select in the squad,” Bismah stated.
The skipper also discussed the team’s preparations for the crucial series against Sri Lanka, stating that he is certain that the two teams would play competitive cricket, while also claiming to try adapting to the weather conditions.
“Preparations are in a great flow and we are trying to adapt to the weather conditions,” she said.
“We do not take Sri Lanka as an easy opponent. I think we would definitely witness a competitive cricket,” Bismah added.
The all-rounder also opined on the inclusion of the two uncapped players in the squad and claimed to have been playing with them for a long time.
“I have been playing for a long time with the newly included players, so there is nothing that they are new for me or am I unaware of their capabilities,” she concluded.
It is apropos to mention here that the three-match T20I series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will kick off tomorrow, while the second and third T20I will be contested on May 26 and 28.
