SYDNEY: Australia’s veteran pacer Dan Christian announced to bid adieu to his illustrious 18-year career following the conclusion of the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) 12.
Christian, who is currently representing Sydney Sixers in the ongoing BBL, will bring curtain down on his career with an aim to bow out with his 10th title.
Taking to Twitter, the 39-year all-rounder announced to call time on a “dream” run during which he won nine titles across different T20 leagues.
“Yesterday at training I told my Sydney Sixers teammates that I’ll be retiring from playing at the end of the BBL season,” wrote Christian.
“Hopefully we can go all the way again this season, but regardless, it’s been a great run.
“I’ve achieved things and made some memories that I could have only dreamt of as a kid.”
Christian represented Australia in 43 matches between 2012 and 2021 and picked up 33 wickets in the limited-overs formats. He also accumulated 391 runs with the bat at the international level.
The all-rounder also played 405 T20s across six different domestic leagues and accumulated 5809 runs including two centuries and 17 fifties. The right-arm pacer also picked 280 wickets.
