Cricket Australia’s Amazon documentary to feature historic Pakistan Tour

KARACHI: The next edition of the Cricket Australia’s Amazon documentary will feature their historic tour to Pakistan after a gap of 24 years in April 2022, Sydney Morning Herald reported.

Originally devised to encompass last summer’s Ashes campaign, the follow-up to Amazon’s 2018-19 documentary about the Australian men’s team is their recent triumphant Test tour of Pakistan, the Australian magazine reported.

According to the details, the centrepieces of the documentary are likely to be the homecoming tour of the opening batter Usman Khawaja and the emergence of Pat Cummins as the Test captain.

Furthermore, the Amazon camera crew including the project’s key cinematographer were present with the squad on their tour of Pakistan. The documentary is still in progress with Australia’s current tour of Sri Lanka reportedly also a part of the project.

The documentary’s release date has not yet been determined, although it is anticipated to happen in the first few months of 2019. The documentary’s first instalment, which focused on the 2018–19 campaign, was published in March 2020.
