Shakib Al Hasan was recalled to the squad by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) after the hosts succumbed to a hammering 328-run defeat against Sri Lanka in Sylhet on Monday.
Towhid Hridoy, who is yet to make his Test debut, made way for Shakib in the squad after being left out of Bangladesh’s Playing XI for the first Test.
Uncapped Mushfik Hasan has been ruled out of the second and final Test because of an ankle injury and was consequently replaced by fellow pacer Hasan Mahmud.
The home side was outclassed by Sri Lanka in all departments but their batting unit disappointed the most as they failed to amass 200 runs in either innings.
