LAS VEGAS: Pakistan ace gamer Arslan Ash created history after clinching his sixth Evolution Championship Series (EVO) title here at the Las Vegas Convention Centre.
Arslan defeated his compatriot and former teammate Atif Butt in a nail-biting final.
The event was held at the Las Vegas Convention Centre from Aug 1-3.
The pro gamer defeated his opponent with a 3-1 margin despite Atif taking the first set. With this victory, Arslan bagged $ 12,000 and 800 tour points.
Following the victory, Arslan Ash expressed his feelings after becoming a six-time title holder.
“I’m feeling so blessed,” EVO quoted Ash as saying after his win and becoming a six-time title holder, adding that he remains “grateful in victory”.
Additionally, his e-sports club Saudia Arabia’s Twisted Minds hailed Arslan Ash as the greatest Tekken player of all time.
“Our player Arslan achieves the Evo World Championship for the sixth time in his career. The right path to achieving the World Cup, God willing,” the club said.
For the uninitiated, Arslan Ash is widely regarded as the greatest Tekken player, having won the title in Japan and Las Vegas in 2019 and repeated the feat in 2023.
Arslan’s exceptional skills in Tekken 7 have earned him widespread recognition, including the prestigious ESPN Best E-Player of 2019 award, which solidified his status as an ultimate player of the game.
Arslan has also triumphed in CEO 2021 and the 2022 Combo Breaker Tekken 7 tournament, emerging victorious against all 10 of his opponents in the latter.
