ISLAMABAD: Ghazanfar Mehmood of the Garden City Golf Club Rawalpindi won the Jinnah Development Golf Tour that concluded at the Islamabad Club, here on Sunday.
The four-day event, comprising two different tournaments crowned various winners with Ghazanfar leading the way and adding another feather to his cap as he claims the Jinnah Development Golf Tour.
The Rawalpindi Tour took the lead on Saturday and carried on his wonderful momentum to seal the victory.
Minhaj Maqsood secured the second position in the competition, while Muhammad Saqib, Syed Bilal, and Asad Khan tied for the third.
The Federal Amateur Golf Championship, on the other hand, concluded as the four golfers tied for the top position.
The highly competitive championship crowned Abdullah Amir, Abdullah Humayon, Adnan Bukhari, and Muhammad Daniyal as the joint champions.
In the women’s amateur category, Salza Alamgir propelled to the triumph with a net score of 150. Tehmina Ahmed (153) and Arooba Ali (153) both ended as runner-ups, while Uzma Nazir (156) finished third.
In the same category of gross event, Tehmina, Arooba, and Tahira Nazir ended as the winner, runner-up and second runner-up respectively.
The two championships – Jinnah Development Golf Tour and The Federal Amateur Golf Championship – concluded with a glittering closing ceremony, held at the Islamabad Club. President Pakistan Golf Association Zahid Arbab attended the ceremony as a special guest and distributed cash prizes and shields among the top performers.
