KARACHI: Former Pakistan captain and head coach โ€“ Misbah Ul Haq, while talking to the media said his son Faham Ul Haq should not be associated with him as a cricketer, here on Tuesday.

Misbah, in a media interaction, emphasized that his son Faham is a cricketer like any other cricketer, and requested that he should be associated with the former captain.

โ€œMy son is also a cricketer like ordinary cricketers,โ€ he said.

โ€œHe should not be associated with me,โ€ he added.

It must be noted here that Faham recently scored an unbeaten century in the ongoing Under-16 national ODI tournament and made headlines.

The 47-years-old also acknowledged the importance of intercollegiate cricket tournaments and said it is important to bring talented young cricketers to the forefront.

โ€œThe intercollegiate cricket tournament is important for grass-root cricket,โ€ he said.

โ€œTalented players will emerge from this tournament,โ€ he added.

Misbah also opined about Australiaโ€™s historic tour to Pakistan after a gap of 24 years and said the tour will be vital for the Test-playing nations.

โ€œI think it is very welcoming that Australia is touring Pakistan after a long time,โ€ he said.

โ€œApart from the leagues, participation of big teams in Test cricket is important for the longest format of the game,โ€ he added.
