ABU DHABI: Bangla Tigers registered an easy 30-runs win over the Northern Warriors as Hazratullah Zazai and Faf Duplessis played blistering knocks to help their team register sixth win in Abu Dhabi T10 League.
After winning the toss, Warriors captain Rovman Powell invited the Tiger batters to bat first. Batted first, the Tigers lost their first wicket for only 25 runs, as Johnson Charles was trapped on 16 by Imran Tahir.
The skipper, Duplessis, and Zazai fought back and put on a brilliant 94-run stand. Zazai hit an unbeaten 55 off 31 balls, including three sixes and three boundaries. Duplessis, on the other hand, was equally impressive, scoring 38* off just 20 deliveries while also hitting three sixes and three boundaries. In the end, Zazai was his team’s top scorer. Tigers finished on 119/1 in their allotted 10 overs.
Warriors’ bowlers were thoroughly beaten, with only Imran taking a wicket.
The Warriors’ batters struggled in response, and wickets continued to fall from the start. Umair Ali, on the other hand, fought back when his team was four down for only 45. He top-scored for the side with an unbeaten 39 off 16 deliveries. The remaining batters were unable to contribute significantly, and their team was restricted to 89/6 in the respective 10 overs, losing the match by 30 runs.
The Tigers’ standout bowler was Tom Hartley, who took two wickets for 12 runs. Luke Fletcher and James Faulkner both struck out a batter.
With this win, the Tigers have moved up to third place in the points standings. The Warriors, on the other hand, remained in fifth place.
