WTC points table after Pakistan’s innings defeat to England

LEEDS: Pakistan languished at the bottom of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 standings after suffering a heavy defeat to England in the first Test of the three-match series at Headingley on Friday.

The defeat sent Pakistan back to the bottom of the WTC 2025-27 standings, with a points percentage of 19.05. They have won two of their six matches and lost four.

England remain seventh with a points percentage of 29.76 after winning five of their 14 Tests.

Australia continue to lead the table, having won seven of their nine Tests and lost two. They have 84 points and a percentage of 77.78.

Defending champions South Africa are second with three wins from four matches, giving them 36 points and a points percentage of 75.

Pakistan had entered the series after a 1-1 draw in the West Indies but struggled against England’s pace attack.

Ollie Robinson and Josh Tongue both took five wickets as Pakistan were bowled out for 171 in their first innings.

England responded with 409 despite Ali Usman’s five-wicket haul, with Jordan Cox, Joe Root, Harry Brook and Dan Lawrence all scoring half-centuries.

Pakistan were left needing to overcome a 238-run deficit to avoid an innings defeat but were bowled out for 135 in 37.3 overs.

Ollie Robinson was named the player of the match for his eight wickets in the match.
