ZIMBABWE: International Cricket Council (ICC) Women’s World Cup Qualifiers were called off after the outbreak of a new COVID-19 variant named Omicron across the Southern Africa region.
ICC confirmed the canceling of Women’s World Cup qualifiers due to the arrival of the new COVID-19 variant.
As a result, Pakistan, West Indies, and Bangladesh have qualified for the mega event based on their rankings. ICC Women’s World Cup will be played from March 4-April 3 next year in New Zealand.
Hosts New Zealand, Australia, England, South Africa, and India have already qualified for the extravaganza.
