LAHORE: Pakistan’s right-arm speedster Haris Rauf has said that the home side will try to take advantage of playing against an ‘inexperienced’ Australian team, here on Sunday.
Haris, while talking to a virtual presser, shared that the green shirts will try to benefit from playing against Australia’s young players.
“There are a lot of young players in Australia’s line-up and we will try to take advantage of it,” he said.
“Despite featuring the young players, the Australian team can not be considered as an easy opponent. We will take the field with our full strength,” he added.
The right-arm pacer also expressed his desire to play Test cricket and said he could not find the opportunity because of a set team combination.
“It is my dream to play Test cricket. Our team combination was set that is why I could not make it into the Playing XI,” he said.
Haris then went on to praise his fellow pacers and said, “Naseem Shah, Shaheen Afridi and Hasan Ali bowled really well in the Test series.”
The right-arm pacer is also hopeful of performing well in the home series against Australia, while also giving the reference to the Pakistan team’s exceptional run in the last year’s ICC T20I World Cup.
“We played good cricket in the ICC T20I World Cup against big teams. So, we will try to perform the same way in this series,” he concluded.
It is pertinent to mention here that the ODI series between Pakistan and Australia will commence on March 29, here at Gaddafi Stadium.
