West Indies suffer major blow ahead of Pakistan ODIs

TRINIDAD: West Indies have suffered a setback ahead of their three-match ODI series against Pakistan as fast bowler Matthew Forde has been ruled out due to a shoulder injury.

The series will begin later today at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba. Notably, all three matches in the series will be played at the same venue, with the second and third fixtures scheduled for August 10 and 12, respectively.

Cricket West Indies (CWI) confirmed via its official social media channels that Matthew Forde dislocated his left shoulder while attempting a catch during Wednesday’s training session.

Uncapped academy pacer Johann Layne has been named as his replacement for the series.
