West Indies name T20I squad for Pakistan series with key inclusions

Cricket West Indies (CWI) has announced the T20I squad for the three-match series against Pakistan, including four key changes from the team that previously played against Australia.

The series will be played from July 31 to August 3 at the Broward County Stadium in Florida, USA.

Shamar Joseph, along with batters Keacy Carty, Alick Athanaze, and Johnson Charles, were drafted in place of Alzarri Joseph, Evin Lewis, Brandon King, and Shimron Hetmyer, respectively.

Pacer Alzarri Joseph has been rested for the series, while Lewis, who was not in the playing XI in the final T20I against Australia due to injury, is also unavailable.

Furthermore, Shimron Hetmyer and Brandon King will not be participating due to side strains they incurred during the final T20I against Australia. King’s fitness will be evaluated again before the ODI matches.

West Indies will take on Pakistan in the opening T20I on July 31 at the same venue in Lauderhill. Salman Ali Agha will continue to lead the Pakistan side in the T20I series.

The tour will then move to the Caribbean, where Mohammad Rizwan will captain Pakistan in the three-match ODI series, beginning August 8 at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad & Tobago.
