KARACHI: Pakistan’s wicketkeeper-batter Sarfaraz Ahmed’s dream comeback managed to inspire several cricket fans across the border including Indian journalist Shubhankar Mishra.

Renowned Indian journalist Mishra, who works as a news anchor for a private TV channel in India posted a four-minute-long video to appreciate the dream comeback of former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz.

“When time is not in your favour, work hard in silence and let your success be the noise,” said Mishra while referring to Sarfaraz’s comeback.

The Indian journalist also highlighted the emotional moment for the wicketkeeper-batter’s wife Khushbakht Sarfaraz, who could not hold her tears when Sarfaraz amassed his first Test century on return.

“Sarfaraz was continuously missing on his hundred after already smashing three half-centuries but when he finally amassed his century then her wife was crying in the pavilion and fans were chanting. This story is quite inspiring,” Mishra stated.

The Indian news anchor also recalled Sarfaraz’s journey from being removed as the Test captain, to being with the team for almost three years but not finding an opportunity to make it to the Playing XI, and finally making a grand return.

Mishra’s appreciation post for Sarfaraz received an immense response from cricket fans in both India and Pakistan.

It is pertinent to mention that before the New Zealand home series, Sarfaraz last played a Test match back in 2019 against South Africa. Whereas, his century against the Blackcaps in the fourth innings of the second Test was his first after 2014.
