New Zealand Tour of Pakistan 2023:

PAK vs NZ 1st T20I:

Despite choosing to bat first, Pakistan struggled to get a strong start in their innings, as their reliable opening duo of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan were dismissed cheaply. New Zealand’s fast bowler Adam Milne dismissed Rizwan with a couple of out-swinging deliveries before hitting his pads and securing New Zealand’s first wicket in the second over of PAK vs NZ series.

Saim Ayub’s impressive knock of 47 runs off 28 balls, at a strike rate of 167.9, was a standout performance, followed by Fakhar Zaman’s equally impressive 47 off 28 balls.

Together, their contributions helped to stabilize the team’s innings and achieve a good total on the scoreboard. Throughout the innings, Milne continued to use his pace to challenge the home team’s batsmen and eventually managed to dismiss the crucial wicket of Captain Babar Azam, bowling him out for just seven runs.

PAK vs NZ 2nd T20I:

The Iconic Gaddafi Stadium hosted the second match of the five-game T20 series between Pakistan and New Zealand. Pakistan skipper Babar Azam won the toss and chose to bat first, and his team proved him right by putting up a massive score on the board.

The touring side failed to chase down the target set by the Green Shirts, which resulted in their second consecutive defeat in the PAK vs NZ series. In the seventh over, Shadab Khan managed to trap New Zealand skipper Tom Latham LBW for 19 runs, securing the first wicket for Pakistan.

In the following over, Imad Wasim dismissed Finn Allen for 26 runs, further denting New Zealand’s progress. Mark Chapman then tried to hold the innings together and formed a 33-run partnership with Will Young.

However, Haris Rauf dismissed Young for just nine runs, and the tourists kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Despite Chapman’s valiant half-century, he couldn’t save the team as Pakistan restricted them to 154/7 and claimed a comfortable 38-run victory.

PAK vs NZ 3rd T20I:

At the Gaddafi Stadium, the third game of the five-match T20 series between Pakistan and New Zealand took place. After winning the toss, New Zealand skipper Tom Latham chose to bat first and his team performed well, with Latham struck a magnificent half-century and powered his side to a decent total of 163/5 against Pakistan in the third PAK vs NZ T20I of the five-match series.

Their total was challenging, and unfortunately, the home team couldn’t chase it down, which prevented them from securing the PAK vs NZ series victory in the third match. On April 20th, Thursday, the fourth T20I will be played, and Pakistan, led by Babar Azam, will be aiming to clinch the PAK vs NZ series.
