WATCH: Labuschagne gets Shaheen after a handy cameo of 29

CARDIFF: The on-ground rivalry between the top-ranked Test batter Marnus Labuschagne and Shaheen Shah Afridi takes a twist as the prior removed the latter in division two of the ongoing County Championship 2022, here on Friday.

In the division two match between Shaheen’s Middlesex and Labuschagne’s Glamorgan. The exciting on-field rivalry between the two marked an interesting twist as the Australian turned the tables by removing Pakistan’s speedster after a handy cameo of 29.

Taking to Twitter, the official handle of the County Championship posted a video of the top-ranked batter Labuschagne removing Pakistan’s top-ranked Test bowler.

“Marnus Labuschagne gets Shaheen Afridi. But not before [Shaheen] could do some damage with the bat,” the caption read.

 

It is pertinent to mention here that Shaheen has removed Labuschagne five times in Test cricket; embarking on an exciting rivalry with the Australian batter. The left-arm pacer also dismissed Labuschagne in his first county championship yesterday.

Shaheen’s astonishing cameo of 29 off just 39 balls helped Middlesex finish at 336 to take a 224-runs lead.
