The nail-biting final played at iconic Lord’s Stadium on July 14, 2019, was vigorously fought by both the teams till the last ball with England triumphing in the Super over.
In a tense final, the two teams fought their hearts out and the match remained evenly poised even after the historic final over. England, however, were declared the world champion on the basis of boundary count.
All-rounder Ben Stokes played the heroic role for England as he blasted a match-winning knock of 84 not-out to seal the victory for his side.
