DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Sunday unveiled the warm-up fixtures for all 16 teams participating in the inaugural edition of the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa in January.
According to the ICC, each participating team will compete in two warm-up matches on January 9 and 11 across four venues in Gauteng – St Stithians College, Steyn City School, Tuks Oval and Hammanskraal Oval.
Consequently, Pakistan will lock horns with Ireland (January 9) and New Zealand (January 11) ahead of the main tournament, scheduled to commence on January 14.
The inaugural U19 Women’s T20 World Cup will feature 41 matches as sixteen teams will be competing in the two-week event across four venues in South Africa.
The 16 teams have been divided into four groups with Pakistan being placed in Group B alongside England, Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
The green shirts will start their main round campaign against Rwanda on January 15 before facing England (January 17) and Zimbabwe (January 19) in their remaining group fixtures.
The top three teams from each group will then be divided into two Super 6 Groups then the top two teams out of which will book their place in the semi-finals.
The final of the inaugural mega event will be played on January 29.
