WAPDA shuts down ‘Cricket Operations’

LAHORE: Water And Power Development Authority (WAPDA) has dissolved all cricket operations after seeing no hope for departmental cricket in Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s domestic set-up. 

According to the details, WAPDA has called off its cricket operations and directed contracted players to resume their respective duties.

As many as 21 cricketers are associated with WAPDA. Some prominent cricketers include Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif, Wahab Riaz, and Kamran Akmal. All the players will have to join their duties as per the order.

It must be noted here that PCB dissolved departmental cricket on the directives of current Prime Minister and former Test captain Imran Khan. The domestic structure was transformed into regions.
