Valencia blunt Getafe 5-1, Valladolid secure first win in La Liga

VALENCIA: Getafe’s woeful run in the season continues as the side faced a crushing defeat on Monday by the home team Valencia 1-5 as matchday four of La Liga came to an end.

Toni Lato scored the opening goal for Valencia and within 20 minutes into the game, they outclassed the opponents with goals each from Samuel Lino and Samu Castillejo.

Nico Gonzalez and Hugo Duro then furthered the lead in the second half with Alvarez scoring the consoling goal for Getafe.

Valladolid, on the other hand, edged past Almeria 1-0 to secure their first win of the season thanks to Shon Weissman’s stellar effort in the extra time to register the lone goal of the match.

With the conclusion of the week four matches, Real Madrid continues to say atop of the standings with Barcelona jumping to the second. Villareal held off Real Betis to take the third spot.
