KARACHI: Usama Khalid took five wickets to help ARY News gain a handsome run rate to make their position strong to qualify for SSB-SJAS Cricket Tournament’s final.
In first playoff of the tournament here at Asghar Ali Shah Stadium on Wednesday, Usama bowled brilliantly to help ARY News bowl out Dunya News for 70 runs after they were asked to bowl first.
Usama conceded 12 runs in his three overs and bagged five wickets. Left-arm pacer Adnan Khan bagged two wickets while Amir Sheikh and Atiq Ahmed shared a wicket apiece.
From Dunya News, only Wasif Safdar (13) and Mohammad Noman SR (12) were able to enter double figures.
In reply, ARY News’ opening batter Babar Khan continued his magnificent form and scored a second consecutive half-century in this tournament to one-sidedly chase the target for his team.
He smashed 51 runs off 21 balls laced with seven boundaries and a six. Zohaib Ahmed bagged two wickets for Dunya News.
